My name is Leslie Fann and I am your current PTA President. Thank you for joining the PTA, we appreciate your support and involvement in our efforts.
On March 12, during International Night, we are going to have a General Meeting, during which we will establish a nominating committee for our Board leadership positions for the next school year. The nominating committee will meet to review the interested candidates for the positions and identify a slate of candidates. This is a very important task that must be completed in order for our elections to occur. We will need 3 members to serve on this committee. The obligation will be to meet one time between April 1 and April 15 to review the list of candidates for each position and finalize the slate.
If you are interested in serving on the nominating committee, please plan to let us know, either in advance or during the meeting on March 12.
Additionally, we are currently looking for people interested in serving on the GJE PTA Board for the 2020/2021 school year. The document below outlines the job duties of the various officer positions. Please review them and let me know if you are interested in being considered.
Of particular importance is the Treasurer position. Our current treasurer will not be able to serve next year and so it is very important we have a suitable candidate for this position. If you think you might be interested in helping in this key way, please email me and I can put you in contact with our current treasurer who can answer any questions you may have about the role. Board elections will be held on April 23 at a General Meeting during Everything GJE Night. The term will be May 2020 – April 2021.
Please note, only current GJE PTA members can vote in the elections.
Our goal as a PTA are to help build community at GJE. We host events and support the initiatives and goals of the faculty and staff. We are part of the foundation that supports and uplifts our wonderful school, which makes PTA service an incredibly rewarding task. Our board is full of kind people who are dedicated to enhancing the experience of our children at GJE any way possible and we want to continue that next year. I ask you to thoughtfully consider sharing your talents with us in one of these two ways, so we can all benefit from our shared dedication and involvement.
